What's included

What does bridal hair and makeup at Styling Co include?

Your wedding morning is planned around your first photos, not around a salon schedule. Our bridal coordinator builds the timeline with you, matches each person in your party with the right stylist, and keeps hair and makeup running side by side.

  • The bride: wedding-day hair, makeup or both, with a trial beforehand if you'd like one. Choose traditional or airbrush makeup, add clip-in extensions for fullness, or go for Hollywood glam waves.
  • Bridesmaids and moms: updos, downstyles, blowouts and makeup, all booked as one party on one timeline.
  • Flower girls, ages 5 to 10: hair and makeup, booked on the same timeline as your party.
  • Here or on location: most brides get ready with us at the salon. On-location pricing is available by email.

Every stylist on our team is trained by our owner, who opened the salon on Main Street in 2004. In the photo: a Styling Co bride on the Asbury Park boardwalk on her wedding day at The Berkeley, hair and makeup by our bridal team.

  • 1. Send us your date

Fill out the inquiry form below, or email stylingcoweddings@gmail.com, with your date, venue, and how many people need hair and makeup. Saturdays from May through October book up first, so write as soon as you have a date.

  • 2. Book your trial

Plan it two to three months out. Bring photos you love and your veil or hair piece, and wear a top with a neckline close to your dress. Then live with the look for a few hours and tell us what to change.

  • 3. We build your timeline

We work backward from your first photos so the whole party is finished with room to spare. Your coordinator pairs each person with the right stylist and keeps hair and makeup moving together.

  • 4. Your wedding morning

Wash your hair the night before, wear a button-down or robe, eat something, and bring your accessories. You get ready in one calm place and leave camera ready.

Choosing your look

Updo, downstyle or Hollywood waves: which is right for you?

An updo pulls your hair up and off the neck: a low bun, a sleek chignon, a braided updo, or a soft textured bun with pieces framing your face. It holds up best through a long night of dancing. A downstyle keeps your hair down in loose waves, curls or a half-up style, and photographs soft and romantic. Hollywood glam waves are the sculpted, red-carpet version and start with a consultation.

Bring a photo of your dress and tell us about your venue. The neckline and the setting shape which styles read best, and a beach ceremony in the ocean breeze calls for a different plan than a ballroom. Want more fullness? Bring your clip-in extensions and we'll install and blend them as part of your style.

For makeup, choose traditional or airbrush. Our makeup artist is a certified Temptu Airbrush artist who specializes in natural glam, with glowing skin and soft definition, using cruelty-free makeup chosen for clients with sensitive skin. Full glam is there when you want it.

Bridal hair and makeup questions

How far in advance should I book wedding hair and makeup?

As soon as you have a date. Saturdays from May through October fill first during shore wedding season, and reaching out early lets us hold your morning and plan your trial around it.

When should I schedule my hair and makeup trial?

About two to three months before the wedding. That leaves time to test the look, wear it for a few hours, and change anything that feels off. Ask about trial pricing in your inquiry.

Do you come to the venue, or do we get ready at the salon?

Both. Most of our brides get ready with us at 902 Main Street in Belmar, which keeps the timing tight and everything we need on hand. On-location pricing is sent by email, so send us your date and venue through the inquiry form.

Can you do hair and makeup for my whole bridal party?

Yes. Send us your head count, whether moms and flower girls are included, and your ceremony time. We build the schedule backward from your first photos and match each person with the right stylist, so everyone is finished with room to spare.

Will my wedding hair hold up at a beach wedding?

We plan for the ocean air. Your style goes in with extra hold and enough pins for humidity, and an updo holds up best through a long night of dancing. Bring a photo of your dress and tell us about your venue so we can pick a style that suits both.

Should I wash my hair before my wedding appointment?

Wash it the night before, not the morning of. Hair that was washed the same day is slippery and can slide out of pins. Come in with clean, dry hair so the style has something to grip.

What should I bring on the wedding morning?

Your veil or hair accessory, photos of looks you love, and your clip-in extensions if you plan to wear them. Wear a button-down top or a robe so nothing goes over your head once your hair is done, and eat something before you sit down.

Do you offer airbrush makeup for weddings?

Yes. Our makeup artist is a certified Temptu Airbrush artist. Airbrush makeup is $155 for the bride and $135 for each member of the bridal party.

Do you do hair for proms, galas and other events?

Yes. Proms, rehearsal dinners, galas, anniversaries and photo shoots book from our regular menu. See Blowouts and Styling for updos and downstyles, and Makeup for event makeup.

“The hair and makeup for both the mother of the bride and bridesmaids was great! The hair and makeup stylists were so seamless in how they included themselves in the morning event!”
