We start by talking through the occasion, whatever photos or inspiration you have brought, and your skin's needs that day. Alycia builds the look in layers, skin first, then eyes and lips, checking it in daylight and under flash so it holds up in every photo from the ceremony to the dance floor.
Airbrush application is available in addition to traditional makeup, and both start the same way: with a skin check, since a foundation that looks perfect on dry skin can separate on oily skin by hour six. For beach weddings and shore events, we also plan for humidity, which changes how long a look holds compared to an indoor venue.
Makeup pairs naturally with hair on the same visit. Most bridal parties book a blowout or an updo alongside makeup so hair and face are finished together, on the same timeline, by stylists who are already talking to each other about the overall look.

Meet Alycia
Alycia has been with Styling Co since 2016 and is our Salon Manager, Makeup Artist, and Bridal Coordinator. She became a certified makeup and Temptu Airbrush artist in 2021 and coordinates bridal parties from the first consultation through the wedding day, including matching each guest in the party with the right stylist for their hair.

Because Alycia also runs the floor as Salon Manager, she is often the one guests talk to first, which means your makeup consultation can double as a chance to ask about pairing hair services for the same event. That is one reason bridal parties tend to book their whole day through her rather than piecing it together with separate appointments.
Aftercare & Maintenance
For weddings and events we recommend a trial application beforehand so there are no surprises on the day. Bring the products you already love using and any skin concerns (sensitivity, breakouts, dryness) so we can plan around them, and ask about touch-up sizing for long event days. If your event runs long, ask for a small touch-up kit of blotting papers and your lip color so you can refresh yourself between photos without needing a full redo.

Can I add makeup to a styling appointment?

Should I do a trial before my wedding?
We recommend it. A trial lets us finalize the look together so your wedding day appointment runs smoothly.
Will my makeup hold up for an outdoor or beach event?
We plan for humidity and heat on shore-area events and can use airbrush or long-wear formulas that hold up better than standard makeup in those conditions.
How far in advance should I book for a wedding?
As soon as you have a date. Bridal party bookings fill up fastest for spring and summer shore weddings, so earlier is always safer than later.
