Every color service starts with a consultation, even for guests we have colored for years, because your hair changes with the seasons, the sun, and your last few appointments. We check your base tone, your gray coverage needs, and how your hair took color last time before we mix a single formula. For a first-time color guest, or anyone asking for a dramatic change, we build the plan across more than one visit when that is what keeps your hair healthy, rather than pushing a single long session that overprocesses it.
Belmar guests come in year-round for two different reasons: the beach and the boardwalk push a lot of sun and salt water onto hair between May and September, which fades color faster and calls for more frequent glossing, while the rest of the year is when most of our full transformations and color corrections happen. Either way, we mix your formula in the room, in front of you, rather than pulling a pre-made bowl off a shelf.

Aftercare & Maintenance
Color fades from the outside in, so the first two washes matter most. We send every color guest home with a sulfate-free shampoo recommendation and a rinse-temperature tip, because hot water is the fastest way to strip a fresh gloss. Most guests return for a root touch-up every 4 to 6 weeks and a toner or gloss refresh in between full color visits to keep tone from turning brassy or dull.

If you are a new color guest or want a significant change, yes. It is complimentary and makes sure we are aligned on the look, timing, and price.
How do I keep my color looking fresh?
A gloss or toner between full color appointments keeps tone correct and shine high. We will recommend a schedule for your color.
Can you fix color from another salon?
Yes, we do corrective color. Please book a consultation first so we can assess your hair and quote accurately.
How often should I come back for color?
Most guests return every 4 to 6 weeks for roots and every 8 to 12 weeks for a full refresh, depending on how fast your hair grows and how dramatic the color is.
Can I go lighter in a single visit?
Sometimes, but not always safely. If your hair cannot handle the full lift in one sitting, we will map a multi-visit plan so we never sacrifice hair health for speed.

The color we use: INOA, ammonia-free
Most of our color is done with L'Oreal Professionnel INOA, an ammonia-free permanent color. No ammonia means no harsh smell and a gentler experience for your hair and scalp, without giving up rich, long-lasting results.
- Ammonia-free formula. INOA replaces ammonia, so there is none of that sharp odor and far less irritation during your service.
- Oil Delivery System. INOA carries pigment into the hair on an oil base, which helps protect the hair fiber and leaves it feeling conditioned rather than stripped.
- True, lasting coverage. You still get full gray coverage and vibrant, dimensional results that hold up beautifully between visits.
